Fog on the Seine
World doyenne of environmental art, 93 years old, Japanese, pioneer of fog sculpture since the 1970s: Fujiko Nakaya has come to install in Honfleur a new fog sculpture, in the Jardin des Personnalités, facing the Seine and the ballet of container ships. One hundred and fifty years after Monet learned to look at the Honfleur clouds, an artist born on another island has come to write in the mist a direct line to the estuary. A room that doesn't really lend itself to photography – you have to walk through it, feel the dampness, see the June light diffract.
