From June 21 to July 14, 2024, the Opéra Bastille will host one of the most iconic works of the classical repertoire: Swan Lake. This masterpiece by Tchaikovsky, revisited by Rudolf Nureyev, promises to captivate audiences with its timeless beauty and poignant emotion.

Rudolf Nureyev, renowned for his daring interpretations and choreography, breathed new life into this work by infusing it with his own artistic sensibility. His version of Swan Lake, created in 1984 for the Paris Opera, is both faithful to the romantic spirit of the work and deeply personal. It explores the themes of duality and destiny with rare psychological depth.

Swan Lake tells the story of Odette, a princess transformed into a swan by an evil sorcerer, and Prince Siegfried, who falls in love with her. Their intertwined destinies, marked by love and tragedy, are magnificently interpreted by the principal dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet, whose technique and expressiveness are world-renowned.

Nureyev's staging is distinguished by its elegance and precision. The sumptuous sets and refined costumes transport the audience to a fairytale world where magic and reality intertwine. The group scenes, notably the famous "swans," are orchestrated with a precision and harmony that leave us speechless.

A unique experience, where Tchaikovsky's sublime music and the virtuosity of the dancers combine to offer an unforgettable moment of grace.
