Munch - Picasso exhibition at the Picasso Museum Málaga

PICASSO MUSEUM MÁLAGA

The Picasso Museum Málaga brings Edvard Munch and Pablo Picasso face to face, two painters who never met yet constantly explored the same subject.

Never met, never wrote to each other, never quoted. And yet, the same subject throughout their lives: what fear, desire, and death do to a body. The Picasso Museum Málaga brings Munch and Picasso face to face for the first time, with more than one hundred paintings, drawings, and prints. In Edvard Munch, anguish overflows from the figure, the sky undulates, the bridge twists. In Picasso, it is the body that falls apart and reveals its two profiles at once. Love, desire, illness, cabarets: obsessions overlap, temperaments never do.
